Dear Santa,
This is YEAH!, your favorite best little youth arts organization anywhere! We know it’s early, but we’ve been so good this year—we certainly hope you think so too!—that we wanted to write and give you our Christmas Wish List a little early this year. It’s beginning to feel a little like Christmas, we know you’re coming soon, and there are some things we’re hoping you might be able to bring us! So here’s our Christmas wish list:
- Digital cameras, both still and movie cameras. New or used, doesn’t matter….a camera for every photography and filmmaking student.
- Any and all kinds of musical equipment, instruments PA Systems, amps, cables….donations of gear are GREATLY Appreciated!
- Filmmaking equipment. Again, new or used, doesn’t matter…lights, booms, mics, cameras….anything to add to our small collection would be awesome!
- Art supplies of all kinds….acrylic paints, water colors, screen printing paints, drawing paper, canvases, pencils, paint brushes and clay….these supplies get used up REALLY fast!
- Theatre stuff….props, costumes, set construction materials….and volunteers! We need theatre people!
- Christmas cash to help us pay the bills….and if you need it we’ll give you a tax deductible receipt for a charitable deduction on your taxes, and that might work out great for you if you pay taxes. Most of us here do….pay taxes I mean!
- And lastly, we would like to have LOTS of new Friends of YEAH! If you could arrange it, could you please tell every mom and dad on your list that you want them to help us keep on making art available to their good little children by making a donation to YEAH! We need all the Friends of YEAH! we can get, and all they have to do is go to the website at www.yeahintheboro.org and sign up! We’ll do the rest!
We know it’s kind of a long list, but we hope you know that it’s all for the kids. We’ve got kids who want to learn everything, who want to bang on a drum and paint a picture and play chess and learn to knit. We’ve got kids who want to learn to act and dance and take pictures and shoot film. These kids want to learn how to be artists, how to express themselves through art. And I’d like to remind you that when they’re with us, they are being very good little boys and girls. They are too happy and too busy to get into trouble while they’re at YEAH! so I know they are all on your “Nice” list. So please, Santa, put YEAH! on your delivery route for Christmas Eve and bring us lots of gifts, and encourage every mom and dad to remember to bring us lots of gifts too. We promise, we will put them to good use!
